Personal Life
Tristan Stubbs was born in South Africa and schooled at Grey High School in Gqeberha, where he captained the school team. While he didn’t make it to the South African U-19 team he didn’t let that stop him. Instead he made his debut for Eastern Province in 2020 and quickly became known for his fearless batting. He first caught attention during the 2018 Khaya Majola Cricket week, where he was the top run scorer and earned a spot in the SA schools side. A calm head with explosive power that’s the Stubbs formula.
IPL & Career Journey
Stubbs got his first IPL break in 2022 with Mumbai Indians, although he only played four matches over two seasons. But 2024 changed everything. After moving to DC he scored 378 runs in 14 innings at a blazing strike rate of 190.90 including a death over strike rate of 297.33 which was the highest for any batter in an IPL season.
He is not just a T20 wonder either; Stubbs made his Test debut against India in January 2024 and his 302 not out in first class cricket shows he can do wonders when required.
