With the first-ever season of the Pro Kabaddi League happening back in 2014, it was kinda a nostalgic thing and also a proud moment that such a sport got this much love and recognition from all across the country. So, if you have been keeping up with Pro Kabaddi League or PKL for short, then you may know which are the teams that have won the title so far all these years, right? Pro Kabaddi League Season 1 Winner (2014) – Jaipur Pink Panthers

In Season 1, the Jaipur Pink Panthers captured the ultimate title. Just so you know though, under the unbeatable Maninder Singh, Jaipur was dominant at the start of the game. The first match of the tournament was lost, but they made a brilliant comeback by winning 10 of the 14 league games. Sure, they maintained that form which advanced them to the finals where they competed against U Mumba. The championship match was a simple matter for the Jaipur side as they played and outsmarted U Mumba, winning the game by a score of 35-24 thus making their team the first-ever PKL champions, you know?

Pro Kabaddi League Season 2 Winner (2015) – U Mumba

In 2015, the next season, U Mumba who were last year’s runners-up came back stronger. Like, the defense of U Mumba was phenomenal because they went through the entire season winning 12 of 14 games, that’s how strong of a comeback we are talking about. If you didn’t know, yes, their star player Anup Kumar was the driving force behind their victory. In the grand final, U Mumba went up against the Bengaluru Bulls which was a tense battle. U Mumba made some strong defensive plays and won the game 36 to 30 thus giving the Eagles their first PKL title.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 3 Winner (2016) – Patna Pirates

Then, in Season 3 of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2016, Patna Pirates began their reign by smashing the competition for the next several years, if you don’t get it yet, just keep on reading and you’ll find out what we mean by that. The Patna team, led by the raider wizard Pardeep Narwal, clinched the first championship trophy by edging U Mumba 31-28 in the last match. Sure, the match was under Patna Pirates’ command because of Pardeep’s fantastic raiding ability, by which not only did they earn their victory but also the title.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 4 Winner (2016) – Patna Pirates

In the very next season, Patna Pirates did not stop their winning spree, you know, they won and won and won. Even though the fan-favorite Rohit Kumar had already gone to Bengaluru Bulls, Patna became a powerhouse, with Pardeep Narwal again serving as the leader. Just so you know though, the finals had Patna going against Jaipur Pink Panthers. Patna’s fantastic victory 37-29 on the back of Pardeep’s brilliant display was astounding. It was then that Patna became the first team to win two PKL titles back to back.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 Winner (2017) – Patna Pirates

To be honest, the year 2017 was a very significant milestone for the Patna Pirates, in fact, they achieved the glorious feat of winning the PKL trophy thrice in a row, which was the very first time that any team could achieve this in the history of this event. Like always, Pardeep Narwal was the player who played tirelessly and eagerly for this success, thus being the star of the team. The final match was against the Gujarat Fortune Giants, and Pardeep scored 8 points that were phenomenal and formed the very essence of the match against Haryana Steelers during the season.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 Winner (2018) – Bengaluru Bulls

In the sixth season, the Bengaluru Bulls defeated the Patna Pirates for the first time, ending their run of consecutive wins, you know? Sure, the great time of the Bulls was led by the captain Rohit Kumar as well as the wonderful personal performances of Pawan Sehrawat. And sure, Pawan Sehrawat, out of the rest of the players, was the star of the show, earning himself the MVP title. The team, Bengaluru, who were determined to be the champions, won in the final round, having faced off against the Fortune Giants of Gujarat and being the ones who took home the championship title with a final score of 38-33.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 Winner (2019) – Bengal Warriors

In the year 2019, the Bengal Warriors took the much-coveted PKL title which was their first in the history of this tournament. In the absence of Maninder Singh, the captain and lead raider who was injured, the Warriors rallied together as a team and this credit goes to them. The player who made the most difference there was Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh who played a crucial role to help Bengal Warriors win with the match-winning Super 10 led by him, which was 39-34.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 Winner (2021) – Dabang Delhi K.C.

Season 8 marked the time Dabang Delhi K.C. triumphed with their first title. After so many times losing the title, the team from Delhi finally went for it and won the award with a close match, 37-36, against the Patna Pirates, who were three-time champions already, you know? And we all know how that turned out for them.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 Winner (2022) – Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur Pink Panthers were once again the kings of the Pro Kabaddi League in Season 9, winning their second PKL championship. This time though, Sunil Kumar, the captain of the Jaipur team, was instrumental in their victory against Puneri Paltan in a nail-biting final that they won by a narrow margin of 33-29.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 Winner (2023) – Puneri Paltan

Only recently, in the final match of Season 10, guided by captain Aslam Inamdar, Puneri Paltan achieved their first-ever PKL title by defeating Haryana Steelers, through dedication and teamwork in the finale, you know? Here, Gaurav Khatri scored 4 tackle points and the duo of Mohit Goyat and Pankaj Mohite were instrumental in the first-ever win of Puneri.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 Winner (2024) – TBD

Season 11 of PKL is yet to begin on the 18th of Oct 2024, and we are all excited about it, aren’t we? So yes, for now, we can’t give you the winner’s name because we don’t know who’ll be taking the title home this time. But worry not, we’ll keep you posted.
