Personal Life

Jake was born in Box Hill, Victoria, Australia and grew up in the suburb of Mont Albert. He started playing cricket at the age of 9 for the Boroondara Cricket Club.  Jake attended Carey Baptist Grammar School and later completed his schooling through SEDA College focusing on sports education. His cricketing journey began early. At just age six he was already hooked practicing long hours with his dad Les Mcgurk. Jack’s mother Charlotte Fraser-McGurk and his two siblings Zack Fraser-McGurk and Paige McGurk have also been the key pillars of support in his rise.

Cricket Career

Jake’s cricket journey is very exciting. Jake made his first class debut for Victoria in November 2019. Then after a short while he started to play in List A. From the beginning he impressed everyone with his attacking style batting.  Real turning point came in his career, when In October 2023 he  made headlines by scoring the fastest List A century reaching 100 in just 29 balls. The record was previous y in AB de Villiers’ name. He made his ODI debut For Australia in February 2024 against the West Indies and his T20 debut in September 2024 against Scotland.

IPL Journey

Jake joined the Delhi capitals in the 2024 IPL season and made an immediate impact. In his debut match he scored 55 in 35 balls against LSG. He ended the season with 330 runs in 9 innings. He had a strike rate of 234 including 32 fours and 28 sixes. Ahead of the 2025 IPL season Jake showcased his form by scoring uneaten 110 runs off 39 balls in a practice match. Recognising his talent DC has retained him this season for 9 crore rupees IN IPL auction.
