Personal Life
Ruturaj Gaikwad is just a 28-year-old as of 2025 because he was born back on 31 January 1997, right in Pune, Maharashtra. And it wasn’t like he was struggling at his young age because his dad actually used to work for India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation. Another thing that worked out in the favour of his cricket career is the fact that his mother was a teacher at a municipal school in Pune, and that’s precisely where he started playing cricket at a young age, and then joined the Vengsarkar Cricket Academy to level up his skills.
He’s now a married man, and yes, his wife is Utkarsha Pawar, and they married back in June 2023. Off the field, though, Ruturaj Gaikwad likes to take it slow, play golf, travel around a bit, and things like that.
Professional Life
Back in 2016, actually did really well in Maharashtra domestic cricket, and that’s when he got many people’s eyes on him, especially selectors’ eyes. So, after just two years, he became part of the CSK squad, but didn’t get a chance to play for the team until 2020. And as we already told you how he did so well in IPL 2021, so much so that he even won the orange cap by scoring a whopping 635 runs. And just the next year from there on, we saw him score a double century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final. So, no wonder CSK made him the captain of the team. Though in IPL 2025, he was doing decent at first, but after getting injured in a net practice session, he got ruled out of the season.
